The National Coalition of 100 Black Women Indianapolis Chapter proudly announces the return of the 26th Gourmet Gents event on Aug. 19.
The Gourmet Gents event is a fundraiser that supports essential programs, such as The Girls Academy, Sisternomics and Breakthrough Women, that are all sponsored free of charge by NCBW100. Thanks to the generosity of the Gents and supporters, these programs can continue to serve and advocate for the community.
For nearly three decades, this beloved charitable event has delighted attendees with its silent auction, mouth-watering array of dishes and lively entertainment. Drawing over 600 attendees annually, the event features culinary creations prepared by a diverse group of corporate executives, politicians, civic leaders, professionals and business owners. In past years, the event has seen the participation of up to 35 Gentlemen and 15 junior Gents, who generously donate their time and cooking expertise to support a worthy cause.
This yearās event is hosted by Kiahna Davis, the chapter’s president, and Sheila Bonds, event chairman. The event will feature 46 distinguished gentlemen serving as Gents as well as The Tony Bryant Project, DJ Gemini, a silent auction and other activities.
During the event, the community will take a moment to recognize critical contributors lost during the pandemic, including Mary Harden, Ann Gray, Lillian Stokes, Yvonne Perkins and Faye Daniels. The community will also remember some of the Gents who have passed on, such as Moses Gray, George Neely, Lucky Hall, George Vansickles, Dorian Ursery and Ashland Whitfield, whose time and talent have helped bring the community to where it is today.
Bonds could not contain her excitement for the 26th annual fundraiser: āThis is our only fundraiser of the year, and I canāt wait to see everyone again,ā Bonds said. āI am really excited for the greens and peach cobbler.ā
The event takes place Aug. 19 at 502 East Event Centre, located at 502 E. Carmel Drive, Carmel. The festivities begin at 6:30 p.m.
The Gourmet Gents event is the perfect recipe for success, made possible by the community’s support. For those who want to attend the event or contribute to this charitable cause, please contact www.ncbwindy.org.
