Gov. Mike Braun announced on Sept. 9 that GovParts, an Indiana-based defense contractor and manufacturer, will expand its operations in Fort Wayne, investing more than $3.4 million to move into a larger facility.
The company supports the U.S. government and defense supply chain through made-to-print manufacturing, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) sourcing, kitting and supply chain execution.
“Indiana is strategically positioned to support U.S. national security thanks to our strong and innovative defense sector,” Braun said. “We are proud to partner with businesses like GovParts to power the warfighter while they boost Indiana’s economy and create high-wage, in-demand career opportunities for Hoosiers.”
Founded in Fort Wayne in 2017, GovParts partners with small businesses, including manufacturers, suppliers and service providers, across northern Indiana and beyond, serving the warfighter while supporting the state’s economy.
GovParts is set to renovate and equip an existing 55,000-square-foot facility on just over eight acres near Fort Wayne International Airport.
This expansion to their operations is meant to support their recent growth, with annual sales projected to grow nearly sevenfold, from approximately $2.5 million in 2023 to approximately $17 million in 2026, while supporting fulfillment activities tied to more than 2,000 government contracts annually.
The company recently acquired the property and is beginning renovations, with the move to the new facility planned for the first quarter of 2027.
According to a press release, this growth and expansion are expected to create up to 20 new, high-wage jobs by the end of 2029, with salaries approximately 20% higher than the Allen County average wage.

GovParts is part of a robust and growing defense sector in Indiana, which has marked $2.5 billion in committed capital investment by defense companies since 2020 and has achieved a 24% increase in defense contracts during that same period. The company joins a growing list of defense industry leaders, including Rolls-Royce, Kratos Defense & Security Solutions and Prometheus Energetics, choosing Indiana to power their operations.
