More by this author

HealthNet will offer the new COVID-19 vaccine from Johnson & Johnson starting March 11.

The vaccine will be free, and you don’t have to be a HealthNet patient to get the vaccine. Make an appointment here or by calling 211.

The vaccine will initially be offered at two sites by appointment only.

• HealthNet Martindale-Brightwood Health Center Community Room, 2855 N. Keystone Ave, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

• HealthNet Administration Thomas Community Room, 3403 E. Raymond St., 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays.

COVID-19 vaccines are currently available to those 50 and older, as well as health care workers. Participants will have to show proof of Indiana residency and date of birth.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is the third to receive emergency approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, joining others from Moderna and Pfizer. Learn more about the vaccines here.
