Recorder names Chief Marketing and Branding Strategist

The Indianapolis Recorder is pleased to announce Brandi Sasore has joined its team in the role of Chief Marketing and Branding Strategist. Sasore will help drive the Recorder’s growth as it expands its digital media content and ad solutions to enable advertisers to authentically connect with our audience.

A recognized leader in marketing and branding, Brandi Sasore has a proven track record for creating strategies that engage audiences and drive people to do, think and act. She is an Indiana native with deep roots in the Indianapolis community. With a 15-year background in development and marketing for Indy nonprofits, she has succeeded in driving mission support through internal and external communications strategies and public relations campaigns. As the Co-Founder and Chief Branding Officer of Buzzworthy, Sasore has led similar efforts at well-known brands in Indianapolis, spanning industries across the education, technology, and nonprofit sectors.

“It’s more important than ever that we have the right talent in place to drive our vision and create avenues for businesses and organizations to have meaningful engagement with our community,” said Robert Shegog, President and CEO of the Recorder. “I am thrilled to have Brandi join our leadership team. Her breadth of expertise and experience will add significant value to our team as we work to enhance and grow our organization.”

At 126-years-old, the Indianapolis Recorder Newspaper is one of the oldest, most respected Black newspapers in the country. The publication has received thousands of local and national awards for its journalistic excellence, creative graphic designs, and community engagement efforts. Among the recent honors are 15 Indiana Society of Professional Journalism awards that the Recorder will receive later this month.
When Sasore joins the team, she will develop innovative digital campaigns that will enhance the Recorder’s electronic presence, market the legendary newspaper on a broader scale and allow advertisers to have more direct access to their audiences,
