Applications are now open for “The Creative Leap,” Indiana Arts Commission’s (IAC) new workshop geared toward entrepreneurs.

The Creative Leap series, led by Dr. Elaine Grogan Luttrull of Minerva Financial Arts, will focus on strategic planning in an application-based content format to support established creative businesses. The Creative Leap will feature four virtual workshops July-August and is open to Indiana-based creative entrepreneurs who have been in business for a minimum of five to seven years, looking to “inject strategic energy into their existing practice,” according to a press release.

“Indiana’s creative entrepreneurs strengthen our economy,” Jordan Adams, IAC artistic services manager, said in a statement. “The Indiana Arts Commission is excited to invest in these Hoosier small businesses and help artists take the next step in their careers through The Creative Leap.”

IAC launched a statewide Artist Needs Assessment in the fall of 2023 to inform new and refined programming for Hoosier artists and small business owners. As a result, The Creative Leap was devised to provide marketing support and education alongside networking opportunities to help Indiana-based creative entrepreneurs strengthen their business strategies and meet financial and marketing goals, according to the press release.

The first cohort will include up to 15 creative business owners. After completing the entire workshop series and coaching sessions, participating members will receive a $1,000 honorarium to go toward purchasing any necessary business resources identified during the programming to accompany newly developed business strategy.

Applications for The Creative Leap are open now, and the application deadline is June 13, 2025. For more information or to apply for The Creative Leap, visit in.gov/arts/programs-and-services/training/creative-leap/.
