The Indiana Fever are making significant changes to their front office as the team prepares for the upcoming WNBA season.
Amber Cox has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer and General Manager, with her official start date set for Oct. 28.
Cox brings a wealth of experience from various roles within the WNBA, most recently serving as the Chief Operating Officer of the Dallas Wings. Under her leadership, the Wings achieved franchise-best business metrics in 2023 and 2024, including seven sellouts and 97% capacity at the team’s arena.
Prior to her time in Dallas, Cox held the position of Vice President for Sports with the Connecticut Sun. It was here where Cox played a critical role in guiding the team to the 2019 WNBA Finals while overseeing all revenue-generating operations.

Her career began with the Phoenix Mercury, where she rose to become President and COO, contributing to the team’s championship victories in 2007 and 2009 and drafting WNBA superstar Brittney Griner in 2013.
Kelly Krauskopf, the Fever’s President for Business and Basketball Operations, expressed enthusiasm about Coxās arrival.
“I have known Amber for over 20 years and have watched her successfully build teams both on and off the court,” Krauskopf said in a statement. “She brings a wide range of executive experience to our leadership team. I look forward to working with her as we build the Fever franchise into the next era of growth.”
Krauskopf replaced Allison Barber in August of this year after Barber stepped down.
In addition to Coxās appointment, the Fever announced that General Manager Lin Dunn will transition into a new role as Senior Advisor to Fever Basketball.

Dunn rejoined the Fever prior to the 2022 WNBA Draft and officially took on the GM role in early 2023. During her tenure, she oversaw three historic drafts and helped return the Fever to the playoffs for the first time in eight years.
Dunnās legacy includes leading the 2012 Fever to a WNBA Championship, ultimately solidifying her status as a Hall of Fame coach.
Krauskopf expressed gratitude for Dunn’s contributions to the Fever.
“I canāt thank Lin enough for the years she gave this franchise,” Krauskopf said. “Coming out of coaching retirement and returning to oversee the basketball operation at such a pivotal time of transition. I have such gratitude and respect for her.”
Cox is eager to begin her journey with the Fever, emphasizing the organizationās commitment to investing in its future of the sport.
āI am excited to be joining the Fever during this historic time in the WNBA, and I am grateful to Kelly, Fever ownership and Mel Raines for this opportunity,ā Cox said. “From the top down, there is a commitment to invest in the Fever to ensure the team’s continued growth and success, and I look forward to contributing to a world-class experience for our fans, as well as our players, both on and off the court.ā
The Indiana Fever return to open the 2025 WNBA season in May.
