The Indiana Historical Society’s (IHS) summer concert series is returning to downtown Indianapolis. 

Presented by OneAmerica Financial Foundation, Concerts on the Canal runs May 15-Aug. 7 and features a lineup of diverse Hoosier artists at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center from 6-8 p.m. every other Thursday. 

Concerts on the Canal aims to highlight artists from across Central Indiana, spanning genres from classic rock to country, disco to swingin’ vibes, pop and R&B, according to a press release. 

The 2025 Concerts on the Canal lineup is as follows: 

  • MAY 15: The Bishops (high energy, multi-genre hits) 
  • MAY 29: Cool City Band (swingin’ music of the lounge era) 
  • JUNE 12: The Beatless (a celebration of The Beatles and Rock & Roll) 
  • JUNE 26: Tastes Like Chicken (rock, pop, R&B and disco) 
  • JULY 10: My Yellow Rickshaw (top 40, rock, country) 
  • JULY 24: Big 80’s (80’s tribute band) 
  • AUGUST 7: Groove Essential (dance hits) 

Tickets and reservations for the 2025 Concerts on the Canal are available now. Seating includes tables of eight ($90/$70 for members) or four ($64/$45 for members) on the IHS Kruse Family Stardust Terrace. Pets and smoking are not permitted on the Terrace.  

Guests will not be permitted to sit in any of the IHS entryways or terrace stairways. Due to the construction of the new Indiana State Archives building, the grassy areas of the Canal Walk will not be open for seating.

Guests may bring their own food and nonalcoholic beverages for the summer concert series. However, all alcohol must be purchased and consumed on site. The Stardust Terrace Cafe and cash bar, operated by Jonathan Byrd’s, opens at 5 p.m. 

IHS exhibits will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and accessible with general admission. IHS is still seekng volunteers to assist with concert set up, tear down and visitor assistance.
