“Oh, what a night!”

Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre brings the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons to life in its dazzling production of “Jersey Boys,” blending heart, humor and harmonies that will leave you humming long after the curtain falls.

“Jersey Boys” tells the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, tracing their journey from blue-collar beginnings to global stardom. With a script full of sharp wit and timeless hits like “Sherry” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” the musical shines a spotlight on the group’s highs and lows.

Gian Raffaele DiCostanzo leads the charge as Frankie Valli, bringing his soaring falsetto to life. Tommy DeVito, the band’s brash and ambitious founder, is played with charisma and grit by Kyle Southern. Nikita Burshteyn captures the songwriting brilliance of Bob Gaudio, while Logan Moore portrays the steadfast bass player Nick Massi with understated charm.

Together, they deliver a dynamic performance that’s as authentic as it is entertaining. Directed and choreographed by Broadway veteran Candi Boyd, this production brings authenticity to the classics and a sneak peek at the story behind them.

Embodying the Jersey accent, the mannerisms, the walk and the talk, DiCostanzo highlighted the energy of New Jersey in the ‘60s. Adultery, smoking, swearing and acts of violence were juxtaposed by the bright, lively pitch of Valli’s signature notes.

Aside from the outstanding cast, the details of the show were impeccable. One second, you’re in the middle of a high energy showstopper number, the next you’re in an alley sitting with a character in their darkest moments.

“Jersey Boys” was no different.

The stage never felt too small throughout the performance thanks to the changing backgrounds, set pieces and perfected stage movements. The costume changes and scene transitions were flawless, seamlessly moving from one direction to another without skipping a beat. Jumping from a high energy hit to a slow ballad was easy for both the audience and the performers.

When seeing a show about Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, you expect the hits to deliver, and deliver they did.

Each classic song coincided with a peek into the inner workings of the group and how they came to be, reinventing the hits and showing the emotional side of the original quartet. Intense family problems and seductive romances told the story of what each member got up to off stage while money problems, gambling addictions and breaking and entering showcased the violence of their New Jersey upbringing.

With its captivating performances and unforgettable music, “Jersey Boys” at Beef & Boards strikes all the right chords. The production’s blend of talent, storytelling and classic hits makes it a standout experience. Running through April 13, “Jersey Boys” at Beef & Boards is a jukebox joyride you don’t want to miss.
