Mental Health Matters Day will return to the Indiana State Fair on Aug. 15, aimed at raising awareness about mental health and wellness.
Hosted by the Indiana Mental Health Roundtable, the event will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on State Fair Boulevard, across from the Harvest Pavilion. It will feature local mental health partners and organizations, giveaways and a raffle.
This year’s theme, “Mental health is Hoosier health,” reflects the Roundtable’s focus on connecting mental health to overall well-being and encouraging Hoosiers to prioritize care for themselves and others.
The event brings together community leaders, mental health advocates and fairgoers from across the state to share resources and foster dialogue. By placing the event in a highly visible public setting, organizers hope to reach a broad audience, from those already engaged in mental health initiatives to individuals who may be encountering these conversations for the first time.

The Indiana Mental Health Roundtable describes its mission as aligning, amplifying and scaling mental wellness initiatives statewide. Mental Health Matters Day is one part of that work, designed to normalize discussions around mental health and encourage communities to take action.
Organizers say they view the State Fair as an ideal venue for reaching Hoosiers from all regions and backgrounds. The mix of exhibits, food and entertainment provides a natural opportunity to engage with the public on a personal level while addressing a topic that affects individuals, families and communities across Indiana.
Throughout the day, attendees will have access to information from mental health service providers, advocacy organizations and wellness programs. Giveaways and the raffle add an interactive element to the event, encouraging visitors to stop by and learn more about the resources available to them.
