
The Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center (INRC) is seeking workshop proposals from the community ahead of its 2026 Neighbor Power Indy conference.
INRC is a local nonprofit dedicated to advocating and empowering Indianapolis residents, having provided leadership training, programming and funding across the city for more than 30 years. The organizationās annual Neighbor Power Indy conference brings together neighbors, community leaders and local officials to celebrate the power of a strong community while sharing strategies for cultivating vibrant neighborhoods, according to a press release.
Themed āMany communities, One City,ā the 2026 encourages Indianapolis residents, neighborhood leaders and local organizations to share their āinspiring community-based stories and best practices. Presentations will be featured in event materials and typically cover topics that represent timely accomplishments or challenges relevant to local neighborhoods.
Presentation topics may include:
- Neighborhood engagement and events.
- Connecting and empowering youth.
- The role of informal associations in community-building.
- Diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Public art and safety.
- Placekeeping.
- Creating new traditions to build identity and pride.
The Neighbor Power Indy conference is a āunique opportunity to engage with neighbors in meaningful dialogue and idea exchange,ā as it is expected to attract an attendance of more than 200 residents, community leaders, nonprofit professionals, business owners, and government officials, according to a press release.
Those interested in presenting must submit a workshop proposal to inrc.org/neighbor-power-indy/workshops by Dec. 31. Workshop proposals are open to all community members, and should include the title and a brief description or video.
Selected presenters will be notified by Jan. 12, 2026, and invited to attend a free Storytelling Workshop from 6-7:30 p.m. on Jan. 21, 2026, to āperfect their message.ā Final presentation are due by Feb. 11, 2026.
