Cosplaying Hoosiers and visitors took to the streets downtown for PopCon Indy 2026 which took place from May 8-10 at the Indiana Convention Center.
PopCon is an annual pop culture-focused, community-centered convention that features celebrity and fan-led panels, events and vendors. Indianapolis serves as the convention’s home base, but it has since expanded to Louisville.
The convention featured celebrity panels from actors such as Sean Astin, widely known for his role as Samwise Gamgee in “Lord of the Rings” and Bob in Netflix’s “Stranger Things.” Other stars in attendance included Walter Jones who played the original Black Ranger in the TV series “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers”, the English voice acting cast of the popular anime “Sailor Moon” among others.

Whether you’re into comics, movies, TV shows, gaming, anime or many other genres, PopCon offers a vibrant community where you can connect with fellow enthusiasts, discover exclusive content, and meet your favorite creators,” according to the convention’s website.
PopCon Indy had no shortage of attractions including WCWO wrestling matches, robot battle competitions and armored combat showcases. Vendors and gaming spaces were also popular attractions.
