“The Paper Dreams of Harry Chin” will make its Indiana premiere at the Indiana Repertory Theatre on April 20 and will run through May 15.
Jessica Huang’s play was previously forced to close during rehearsals because of the pandemic.
Based on a true story, the play looks at immigration and a family caught between two cultures. “The Paper Dreams of Harry Chin” was originally commissioned by the History Theatre in Minnesota, and Huang uncovered the real Harry Chin’s immigration story while researching the Chinese Exclusion Act.
The play is 2 hours, 15 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission. It will also stream May 2-15. In-person tickets start at $25. Virtual tickets are $30. Purchase tickets here.
