Indianapolis continues to be a prime destination for new sports franchises.
The AlleyCats, one of the two original franchises in the Ultimate Frisbee Association (UFA), are gearing up for an exciting schedule with home games at Kuntz Stadium, located at 1504 west 16th Street in downtown Indianapolis.
AlleyCats president Derek Tow is confident the sport will resonate with Indianapolis fans.
“It’s a wicked fast sport that is super fun to watch and doesn’t take a master’s degree to understand,” Tow said. “Who didn’t grow up with a Frisbee in their backyard or on the playground? You can’t have a Frisbee in your hand without a smile on your face.”
The UFA has grown rapidly in popularity, combining aspects of soccer, football and basketball while maintaining a fast-paced, high-energy style of play.
Ultimate frisbee features seven-on-seven competition on a football-sized field, with players using a flying disc to score in end zones.
The 2025 season kicks off May 2 with an away game against the Pittsburgh Thunderbirds, followed by the home opener on May 10 against the reigning UFA champions.
Tickets start at $15. For more information visit myalleycats.com.
