A holiday tradition returns to Indianapolis this winter as Newfields presents Winterlights, running from Nov. 23-Jan. 5.
This year’s display, presented by Bank of America, will dazzle guests with nearly two million lights illuminating The Garden, accompanied by a custom musical soundtrack curated in collaboration with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
President of Bank of America Indianapolis Andy Crask wants to continue to help power events such as Winterlights at Newfields.
“Bank of America is committed to supporting community initiatives that meaningfully connect us and enable us to share uplifting experiences,” Crask said.
Newfields, located on a sprawling 152-acre cultural campus on the city’s west side, offers dynamic experiences with art and nature, making it a year-round destination for visitors of all ages.
Crask thinks Newfields is one of the city’s local treasures and offers cultural experiences that enhance the community.
“We’re proud to support Winterlights, a cherished holiday event where families and friends can celebrate the holiday season together,” Crask said.
Highlights of the Experience

Winterlights at Newfields, now in its eighth year, features attractions like the Twinkling Trail and Landscape of Light.
The latter, displayed on the lawn of Lilly House, is synchronized with the symphony’s soundtrack, solidifying an immersive experience for all.
Ruth Lilly Director of The Garden and Fairbanks Park Jonathan Wright underscored the transformative nature of the function.
“In the winter months, The Garden transforms from the flowering beauty of spring and summer into the magically lit spectacle from trunk to branch,” Wright said in a statement. “With the same passion and innovation that is brought to any project in The Garden, our teams at Newfields are bringing guests an undeniable display of extraordinary wintertime wonder.”
Special nights during Winterlights at Newfields

Winterlights hosts a litany of themed evenings, including Indy Pride Night (Dec. 1), Kwanzaa Night (Dec. 5), Las Posadas (Dec. 19) and Latkes and Lights (Dec. 29).
Guests can enjoy holiday treats, from s’more kits to spiced plum cider courtesy of Ash & Elm and the Winterlights-inspired Electric Reindeer by Sun King.
Additionally, guests can boost warm beverages by adding Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey or peppermint vodka.
For those seeking a more remote experience, Newfields introduces a special group package this season. Partygoers may book a private event for up to 40 attendees, including a three- or five-course meal at Garden Terrace before a trek through the lights.
A tradition of festive family fun at Newfields

Winterlights has become a beloved tradition for Indianapolis residents and visitors alike, drawing families and friends to marvel at its artistic displays and celebrate the season. Wright expressed gratitude for the community’s support:
“We are so grateful for all the families and friends that have made this an annual tradition at Newfields year after year,” Wright said.
