The Indianapolis ACE Academy is excited to once again offer a unique opportunity for student’s exposure in aviation. The Aviation Career Education (ACE) Academy, a nationally recognized, FAA-endorsed mentoring, and educational program, opens its 5th annual IND chapter academy program.
IND ACE is a week-long program. The Academy offers an interactive introduction to the aviation industry and careers to students in high school. The purpose of the aviation academy is to introduce and to give youth the opportunities to pursue highly advanced technical careers related to the world of aviation. Students will have the opportunity to interact with active professionals from the aviation community, be given career-mentoring advice, tour facilities, and see how professionals achieve their goals. The Academy will conclude with students taking an orientation flight.
The ACE program is open to students who have the desire to learn about aviation. It will create experiences for high school students to gain aviation knowledge in the industry. The program is lectured and taught under the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) learning objectives, which include important skills set, critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork, and communication.
The IND chapter of the Academy is sponsored by the IAA, Republic, Rolls Royce, FEDEX, Vincennes University, and Montgomery Aviation, and is part of an outreach dedicated to competing for the minds, imaginations and career ambitions of high school students. The week-long program keeps students fully engaged through hands-on, real-world activities and mentoring from active industry professionals. More information is available at www.indyace.com
