The city of Indianapolis will be slightly less glamorous and a bit less gorgeous when one of its best stylists and business owners, packs up his mannequins, his products, unplugs his curling irons, and sells his salon. A native of Chicago, Illinois, the renowned Latham C. Alexander, Jr. of Latham C. Alexander Salon will be saying farewell to the city of Indianapolis where he has been making ladies feel and look beautiful for over 30 years. A man with so much elegance and grace, some of his friends jokingly call him fancy.
Latham, a trend setter of style, is also one of Indy’s great-minded businessmen. Upon graduation from Loyola University of Chicago, he knew that he was destined to do great things with his life, one of which was owning his own business and making ladies feel beautiful. Latham set his sights for Indianapolis in 1978 and enrolled in Mr. Glen’s Beauty College. Soon he became one of the most famous hair stylists in the city. But that was only the beginning. Latham kept his promise to himself when he opened his first self-owned beauty salon called “Alexander’s” in 1989. Known for being the ultimate professional, Latham ran a business where both ladies and gentleman were blessed by his talents with hair. He travels the globe teaching other stylists the proper way to relax, cut, color and keep hair in great condition. In addition, he walks the runway in numerous fashion shows for people like fashion designer Mrs. Alpha Blackburn and many others locally and abroad, and is a member of the League of Distinguished Gentlemen. A Christian man, father, grandfather, stylist, and friend, Latham is adored by many. Mr. Alexander will be missed here in our city as he will soon depart for the retired life in beautiful, sunny Florida. But Latham will not leave us without hair care. He has his own line of hair care products called ColleXione.
Thank you Lathan C. Alexander, Jr. for making a difference in the Indianapolis community!
