The Jane Pauley Community Health Center Dental Clinic (JPCHC Dental Clinic) is officially open and has begun accepting new patients. The eastside dental clinic is located inside the Metropolitan School District of Warren Township’s Walker Career Center, at 9651 East 21st St., on the campus of Warren Central High School.
The dental clinic was made possible through a partnership between The Jane Pauley Community Health Center, Community Health Network, Indiana University School of Dentistry, Warren Township Schools and the Walker Career Center. The clinic is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for both children and adults. Medicaid insurance is accepted, and for those with no dental insurance, a sliding fee scale discount is offered based on income. Appointments are available by calling (317) 355-2123.
“Our first patient was so excited to see the dental clinic open,” said Marc Hackett, executive director of The Jane Pauley Community Health Center. “He said that in the past, he had been going downtown from the eastside. This clinic will create important access to a state-of-the-art dental clinic for neighborhoods on the eastside of Indianapolis.”
The JPCHC Dental Clinic will also serve as a training site for both the Walker Career Center and the IU School of Dentistry. In the fall, members of the Walker Dental Assistant Program will train with Dr. Kelli Dewell, DDS, a member of the JPCHC Dental Clinic staff, and the IU School of Dentistry will have students completing their final year of residency gain real world experience at the clinic.
