Vocalists and musicians with the Eastern Star Church (ESC) Music Ministry performed during a recent concert at the new Palladium, a venue which is part of Carmel’s new Center for Performing Arts. The ESC Music Ministry was one of the groups asked to perform as part of the Tuning the Halls series, which helped the 1,600-seat Palladium test its sound equipment before the official grand opening of its inaugural season last week.
The Eastern Star Church choir was joined by a 40-piece orchestra that included musicians from Broad Ripple and Lawrence North high schools.
Having performed in venues around the world, the ESC Music Ministry became the first predominately African-American ensemble to hold a concert at the Palladium, which is the first concert hall of its kind in Central Indiana.
