2024 Midwest Leak Awards look to honor helpful Hoosiers

Noral Parham is the multi-media & senior sports reporter for the Indianapolis Recorder, one of the oldest Black publications in the country. Parham has worked with various leagues to provide a diverse perspective in sports, including the Big Ten, Big East, IHSAA, IndyCar, MLB, NHRA, NFL, NBA, WNBA, WWE and the Olympics. Prior to joining the Recorder, Parham served as the community advocate of the MLK Center in Indianapolis and senior copywriter for an e-commerce and marketing firm in Denver.

The curtain rises on July 7 for the 2024 Midwest Leak Awards, a night dedicated to honoring the brightest stars of Indianapolis’ entrepreneurial and entertainment stage.

Hosted by Midwest Leak magazine, the ceremony will be held at the Vogue in the Broad Ripple neighborhood, recognizing excellence across various categories.

From Indy’s favorite restaurant and barber to the most captivating podcast and rising music artist, the awards honor the pulse of many creatives in our communities. The awards acknowledge not only professional achievements but also the devotion that drives the local scene.


This year’s ceremony follows the publication’s tradition of recognizing those who inspire and empower others. The “Midwest Leak Honors” also highlight community figures who leave a lasting impact.

Prior recipients include Dee Ross of the Dee Ross Foundation and founder of Don’t Sleep Dominic Dorsey.
