Schawayna Raie to perform at the World Special Olympics in Los Angeles, CA 2015

Los Angeles, CA Wednesday, July 29, 2015 6 p.m. – Indianapolis’s own Inspirational recording artist, Schawayna Raie will be performing in Los Angeles, CA for the World Games Special Olympics on July 29, 2015!

Schawayna Raie hit the scene December, 2010 with her debut album “Through It All”! She hit the ground running being asked to perform on a nationally syndicated talk show as well as perform on stages with some of Gospel’s greatest artists such as, Johnathan McReynolds, Mark Hubbard, Isaac Carree, Chanel (formerly with the group Trinity 5:7 to name a few.

Schawayna Raie followed up her freshman album with two great albums in 2013. “No More Hiding” shows exponential growth in Schawayna Raie’s writing ability as well as her vocal range shown in her first hit single Sacrifice, which speaks against devaluing yourself to gain superficial things. Her second album released that year was a Christmas album with a personally scribed song called Remembering Christmas, which reminisces about the times when Christmas was so special to her with family and friends around. She dedicated the song to her late grandfather because he was the center of their families universe.

After releasing those three albums, Schawayna Raie created a brand as an artist that she could not separate herself from. Schawayna Raie has been an avid philanthropic.

Through her nonprofit organization, she has blessed many young ladies at the School for the Deaf with prom dresses, jump started many women in the community’s businesses, created a youth development program where she offers at her childhood neighborhood center (Riverside Community Center). Through “Schawayna Raie the Artist”, she has created a Christmas fundraiser show called Schawayna Raie & Friends, A Christmas Benefits Celebration where she has raised greater than $1500 for local nonprofit organizations within the two years that she has presented the event.

Schawayna Raie released a song called Who Will Cry, (for the little girl) in April of 2015 to bring awareness to an epidemic that hits home, which is sexual assault through molestation and to also bring awareness to the multi-billion dollar business of Human Trafficking. Schawayna Raie wanted the people in the Black Community to begin talking about it so that the ones affected may be healed. She is now working with an organization called Purchased located here in Indianapolis that presents a program called My Life, My Choice to young girls that may be at risk for being trafficked through their present behaviors or circumstances.

Schawayna Raie has been offered the opportunity to perform for the athletes at the World Special Olympics 2015 in LA. She will be performing on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 on the University of Southern California’s campus. She is very excited about this opportunity because she is able to take her gift to a larger platform and bless the athletes and attendees with some encouragement, hope, and celebration of life!
