Indiana State Police say at least one person was killed in crashes on Indianapolis highways caused by a wrong-way driver during the morning commute.
The first reports came in around 7 a.m. Thursday about a vehicle going east in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the city’s downtown. Later reports said a vehicle was going northbound in the southbound lanes of I-70/65.
Police say at least seven vehicles were involved in crashes that involved some injuries.
The crashes caused long traffic delays, with police closing some lanes during the cleanup and investigation.
