Walker exhibit features Mark Sheldon photography

Naptown’s finest and most famous musicians have been captured by the lens of nationally-known photographer Mark Sheldon, and an exhibit of his work opens Friday, April 3, at 7 p.m. at the Walker Theatre .

Friday’s opening reception is free and parking is available behind the Walker on 617 Indiana Avenue. It’s part of the First Friday Gallery Tours. 

The exhibit includes photos of Indianapolis saxophonist Rob Dixon, organist Melvin Rhyne, jazz violinist Regina Carter, and many other jazz and blues musicians.

In addition to being a regular contributor to the noted jazz publication Downbeat Magazine, Mark Sheldon has had his work featured in Guitar Player Magazine, Keyboard Magazine, Newsweek, Time Out, The New York Times and countless CD covers and books.

 The Mark Sheldon Classic Jazz Photography exhibit will run through Monday, April 27.
