More by this author

There were many reasons Americans were apprehensive about moving into 2017, yet despite increased racial tension, environmental disasters and political discord, we are still trucking along, and that is cause for celebration. Since no one has pushed the nuclear button yet, let’s take advantage of this opportunity to commemorate the triumphs we have experienced this year. No matter your party preference, there is a celebration in Indy that’s sure to hit the right chord as we usher in 2018.

For the dancing queens and kings: The Fountain Square Silent Party

Get ready to make a lot of noise at Old SOUL Entertainment’s “silent” party that puts you incontrol of the music. No matter if you’d rather tune into hip-hop, afrobeats and reggae, or a combination of popular genres, there is a channel for you. The party kicks off at Pioneer, 1110 Shelby St., at 9 p.m. Tickets start at $30 and can be found at oldsoulent.com.

For the vintage-loving partygoer: NYE at the Vogue

Get ready to travel back in time as you celebrate four decades of entertainment excellence. At the Vogue’s New Year’s Eve party, there will be drink specials from each decade, live dancers and performers, and a large cash balloon drop. The party runs from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., and general admission tickets are $20. Buy tickets at ticketfly.com.
