Minority, women’s, and veteran business enterprise firms are invited to the Contacting Opportunity Event when more than 30 cultural institutions, municipal and state agencies will be available to discuss upcoming contracting opportunities.
Sponsored by the City of Indianapolis, Indianapolis Zoo, NCAA, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis and United Way of Central Indiana the event takes place Oct. 24 at The Children’s Museum, 3000 N. Meridian St., from 2 to 4:30 p.m. and is open to all MBE/WBE/VBE firms at no charge.
From construction projects to consulting contracts to office supplies, not-for-profit organizations spend significant money with area businesses, providing a sometimes-hidden source of purchasing power and an untapped resource for small businesses and MBE/WBE/VBE firms.
The Contracting Opportunity Event is designed to increase cultural spending with MBE/WBE/VBE companies, and to provide networking opportunities and resources on certification and project planning.
“We are pleased to continue to host this event that will help make valuable connections that can open new market opportunities for minority, women and veteran owned businesses in our community,” said Jeffrey H. Patchen, president and CEO, The Children’s Museum.
“This is a chance for small business owners to make multiple sales calls with direct access to purchasing decision makers all within a few short hours” added Karen Burns, Indianapolis Zoo senior vice president of external relations and member of the contracting opportunities planning committee. “This setting offers incredible networking opportunities that will prove invaluable to help MBE, WBE & VBE businesses thrive and grow.”
Admission is free, and no reservations are required. Free parking will be provided at The Children’s Museum garage on Illinois Street. Light refreshments will be served.
