INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Residents of Greenwood soon will be able to ride a bike all the way to downtown Indianapolis without having to navigate bumpy shoulders or sidewalks that abruptly end.
The Franklin Daily Journal reports Indianapolis plans to start work this year on bike lanes along Madison Avenue between County Line Road and Shelby Street. The striped lanes on the side of the road will link to a pathway system that will let cyclists pedal from the southern suburb to downtown Indianapolis. Bike lanes already link downtown Indianapolis with Carmel north of the city
Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard scheduled a Tuesday afternoon news conference to announce bike lane projects scheduled for construction this year that will double the city’s miles of bike lanes.
