Voting? Don’t forget photo ID

More by this author

Indiana Secretary of State’s Office is reminding Hoosiers voting in the Nov. 8 Municipal Election to bring a photo ID with them to the polls.

Voters, who do not bring photo ID, will still have an opportunity to vote provisionally and present their IDs to their local county election board by noon on Nov. 18.
Indiana voters and officials can also contact the Secretary of State’s Election Day Hotline at 1-866-IN1-VOTE on Election Day between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. with any questions or concerns or on regular business days from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
IndianaVoters.com debuted in 2006, and has since garnered praise as a one-stop shop for voters. Tools to locate polling places, to check voter registration and to see who will appear on individual ballots are offered on the site.
Hoosiers can visit www.IndianaVoters.com on their computers or from a mobile device to find out where their polling place is located, and track the status of their absentee ballot request, all by clicking on “Confirm Voter Registration.”
Hoosiers can also visit www.IndianaVoters.com to get a copy of their ballot and to find contact information for all 92 county election boards.
The secretary’s Election Division will be posting mayoral election results on its website located at www.IN.gov/sos/elections as they receive them from local clerks in contested counties.
