INDIANAPOLIS – A private school in Indianapolis closed a day early for its fall break because of widespread illness among its students.
Heritage Christian Schools closed on Wednesday in what administrators said was a precaution to prevent the spread of the unspecified illness. The school had previously scheduled days off for Thursday and Friday.
Heritage Christian has about 1,500 students in kindergarten through high school at its campus on the city’s north side.
School officials said the illness-related absences were concentrated among elementary students.
