(2/1/10) The Indiana Department of Administration (IDOA), Indiana Department of Transportation and public colleges from across the state are conducting a disparity study related to their procurement and contracting procedures.
The study will include accounts from business owners and other industry representatives about working in Indiana and whether or not they have experienced discrimination based on race, ethnicity or gender in the Indiana marketplace. The agencies and public colleges participating in the study will review that information as they consider future implementation of the State’s MBE/WBE/DBE programs. In connection with the study, IDOA is hosting a public forum where vendors, contractors and other industry representatives can share personal experiences and other information relevant to
procurement and contracting in the state. The public forum will be held on
Wednesday, February 24, 2010, between 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., at the following location:

Indianapolis, IN 46204
Attendees of the public forum will have the opportunity to share their experiences about a number
of topics relevant to working in Indiana, including: obtaining work with state and local government
agencies, public colleges and private sector establishments; starting or expanding a business;
obtaining financing, insurance and bonding; and whether or not discrimination affects businesses
in the state.
Individuals who are interested in participating in the public forum do not have to attend for the
entire duration — they are welcome to share their comments and leave at their convenience.
Individuals who would like to submit additional information or cannot attend the public forum are
encouraged to submit written comments to IDOA via traditional mail, fax or email
