City-County Councillor Monroe Gray will take part in honoring Roosevelt L. Williamson Sr. on May 15 at 3 p.m. during a program at Christ Missionary Baptist Church, 1001 Eugene St.
Williamson founded Williamson’s Fish Market on Clifton Street, which became a strong pillar in the community and is still flourishing today. He touched many lives with his giving spirit.
City-County Council Special Resolution No. 13, 2011 was passed by the full council, designating Clifton Street, from Roach Street to 30th Street, as Roosevelt L. Williamson Sr. Memorial Way.
