Martin University’s Board of Trustees has voted to make Dr. Eugene White the new university president, effective immediately. He had been serving as interim president since mid-September.

His contract is for a five-year term, aligned with the President’s Five Year Plan for the University.

Martin University is a private, not-for-profit, liberal arts institution that was founded in 1977 by Rev. Father Boniface Hardin and Sister Jane Schilling. Martin University is Indiana’s only predominately Black institution of higher education. It is steeped in a history of service and open to a diverse population of students from all walks of life.

Its mission is to provide excellence in educating and developing all students, with expertise in serving and empowering low-income, minority, and adult learners, in a healthy and collegiate environment.
