A first-of-its-kind basketball tournament aimed at supporting formerly incarcerated individuals’ transition back into society will begin this summer at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis.
Pacers Sports & Entertainment (PS&E) will host the inaugural “Rebound for Re-Entry 3 v 3 Basketball Tournament” on Sept. 13, 2025, to raise funds for local nonprofit Public Advocates in Community Re-Entry (PACE).
The event, open to adults 18 and older, invites teams to compete for over $5,000 in prizes while supporting PACE’s mission to provide resources such as case management, job training and therapy to people impacted by the justice system.
“This event not only highlights the power of sports in building community but raises necessary funds to support our programs,” PACE Executive Director Rhiannon Edwards said. “It’s a chance for all of us to rebound together — for our community and for those who need it most.”
Indiana’s leading re-entry nonprofit, PACE assists hundreds of individuals annually with services designed to reduce recidivism and promote stability.
The event’s proceeds will expand access to PACE programs, which include workforce development and recovery support.
The tournament begins at 10 a.m. at the venue’s Morris Bicentennial Plaza alongside family-friendly activities and local entertainment.
Participants can register teams on a first-come, first-served basis through PACE’s website.
Community members may also attend as spectators, volunteer or donate directly to the organization.
The event is free and open to the public. Parking is available at the parking garage located at 120 Viriginia Avenue. Street parking is also available.
