DeeGusto’s is lovely and satisfying

“Born of hard work, created with love and served with flair!”

That’s the motto of DeeGusto’s restaurant, conveniently located not far from downtown Indianapolis near White River State Park and the Indianapolis Zoo.

Once you visit DeeGusto’s, you will quickly see what the above statement is all about.

Since opening in 2009, DeeGusto’s has quickly become known as one of the best providers of Southern style cuisine in the city.

Patrons have returned again and again to get their hands on DeeGusto’s trademark items such as John’s Juicy Smothered Pork Chops, Diane’s Dee-Licious Fried Chicken, homemade cornbread dressing and desserts made with real, authentic ingredients such as caramel cake, apple dumplings and peach cobbler.

The restaurant has also become popular for its generous servings, friendly service and warm, family oriented atmosphere.

In other words, it is simply impossible to leave DeeGustos dissatisfied. If you call yourself a tough restaurant critic and hope to find something wrong with this place, you might as well forget it. Just sit on down, spread out your napkin and get ready to enjoy cuisine that, dare I say, rivals some of the best homemade recipes.

DeeGusto’s was built on the legacy left by Gustoria Davis, who learned how to craft awesome home-cooked meals in her native Mississippi, and was known for her incredible culinary skills.

She passed that talent to her nine children, and two of them, Calvin Davis and Diane Washington (also known as Dee Dee) opened the restaurant.

“Our mother taught us the art of cooking and how presentation is just as important as taste. You have to make people want to eat your food because it looks good,” said Lucy Davis, a daughter of Gustoria who happily helps out with the family enterprise.

Before the restaurant was opened Dee Dee sold orders from the home of a friend so that the community could experience what she, her brother Calvin and their neighbors enjoyed as they grew up.

As the business began to take off with increasing demand, the dream of a family-style restaurant became reality.

“Customer satisfaction is very important to us, and our goal is to provide great service to the best of our ability,” said Lucy. “We want you to come back.”

It is fortunate for us that Gustoria’s family chose to share what they have long enjoyed, such as a special breakfast skillet (available with your choice of meat), biscuits and gravy, chicken and fish dinners, pork chops and side items like rich greens, mashed potatoes, yams and macaroni and cheese.

For your convenience, DeeGusto’s provides dine-in, catering and delivery. Give them a try today and taste the love they enjoy serving.
