A vivacious haven is debuting among the districts of greater Indianapolis in the form of artwork during the Carmel Arts and Design District Gallery. The gallery celebrates five years this month.
The arts gallery has expanded once again offering new opportunities for visitors to view and purchase artwork from local, regional and international artists. The 11 participating galleries will display a variety of working artists showcasing paintings, photography, art glass, and portraiture and sculptures all surrounding the area of Main Street and Range Line Road in Carmel. All the artistry is within walking distance.
Patrons are invited the second Saturday of each month to participate in the gallery walks, which are from 5 to 10 p.m. The galleries are open throughout the day during normal business hours as well. Do not expect the same art if you decide to revisit, because new art is displayed each month too.
āThis brings the community together for a nice, casual evening. I have people that come out of town to see what we have to offer,ā said Terry Gentry, president of the Carmel Arts and Design Districts Gallery Association. He and his wife Sherry are owners of Trilridge Fine Art Gallery. āThis is one of the premiere districts of its type in the Midwest. The caliber of art and diversity is remarkable.ā
Gentry encourages the community to find an opportunity to inquire about the local art and engage in the merchant events, activities, entertainment, culture and shopping of the Carmel Arts and Design District.
