The Indiana Repertory Theatre (IRT) announced its 2026-27 season, which kicks off with “The Da Vinci Code.”
Presented by Printing Partners and co-produced with Cleveland PlayHouse, “The Da Vinci Code” is a “heart-pounding action adventure” based on Dan Brown’s 2003 bestseller and adapted for the stage, according to a press release. Directed by Benjamin Hanna, IRT’s Margot Lacy Eccles Artistic Director, “The Da Vinci Code” is onstage Sept. 23-Oct. 18.

The live stage production of “The Da Vinci Code” promises to deliver on all the excitement of the book, in a “fast-paced, two hour roller coaster of thrills,” according to the London Theatre. The show follows Professor Langdon and agent Sophie Neveu as they race to solve a modern-day murder by deciphering the past.
Featuring a star-studded cast of actors from Indianapolis and beyond, “The Da Vinci Code” features Ryan Artzberger, Sean Black, Jen Johnasen, Devan O’Mailia Mathias and Eric Sharp.
Guests are invited to lean into the mystery’s twists and turns as the show addresses surprising and personal questions woven through the world of religious art and conspiracy, according to a press release.
“The Davinci Code” is the first of the IRT’s co-productions of the 2026-27 season in partnership with other League of Resident Theatre members. Following the Indianapolis premiere, “The Da Vinci Code” will move to Cleveland Play House in January 2027. Co-productions are designed to elevate the nationwide prominence of Indiana’s premiere regional theatre, ensuring longer contracts for creatives and cost savings for theatres, according to a press release.

Following “The Da Vinci Code,” the IRT’s 2026-27 season continues with five more productions, including “Kim’s Convenience,” the play that inspired the hit Netflix series. “Kim’s Convenience” is onstage Oct. 20-Nov. 1, co-produced with Everyman Theatre in Maryland and Portland Center Stage in Oregon.
Next to the stage is the IRT’s cherished holiday tradition of “Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol,” running Nov. 14-Dec. 26. Kicking off the new year is Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ “Purpose.” The 2025 Pulitzer Prize– and Tony Award–winning drama is onstage Jan. 26-Feb. 21, 2027, co-produced with Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.
Written by America’s most-produced living playwright Lauren Gunderson, “Little Women” takes the stage at the IRT, presenting a fresh twist on a familiar favorite, Feb. 16-March 21, 2027, according to a press release.
Closing out the season, the IRT presents the “enduring golden-age” Broadway musical “Guys and Dolls” April 7-May 9, 2027.
The IRT hosts supplemental programming throughout the run of each show, including Community Conversations, which feature community members in discussion of “our deep and enduring human fascination with symbols;” Artist Conversation with actors, directors and designers that provide a behind-the-scenes look at the production; American Sign Language (ASL)/Audio Described (AD) performances; and a sensory-friendly performance.
