If you have a love for peaches and live in the Martindale-Brightwood area, The Edna Martin Christian Center will be hosting its first annual Peach festival June 28 from 10a.m. – 3p.m. ,the center is located at 2605 E. 25th Street. Tickets are $5 for tastings and full sized offerings are available for portions.
“ We looked at the Martindale-Brightwood area and we saw that every community had something that was unique like the strawberry festival, we were also looking for a way to raise funds for our summer leadership-legacy program,” said Altina Truss, Membership and Guest Coordinator.
Celebrity chefs will be whipping up different types of peach based foods such as ribs with peach barbeque sauce, peach baked beans, peach glazed chicken, and peach cobbler. There will also be hourly giveaways, games and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.
The Festivals main events will be the Peach Cobbler contest and the talent showcase. If anyone would like to be apart of either event there is still time to sign up. Those interested have until Thursday June 26 the register. The talent showcase will be having auditions Tuesday June 24 and Thursday June 26.
