One of Indianapolis’ many southern cuisine restaurants, Georgia Reese’s Southern Table & Bar has recently opened its second location at 14 E. Washington Street. Since its opening on May 27, the restaurant has welcomed several large crowds for brunch, lunch and dinner.
“It feels great to open a second location,” said owner and former Indianapolis Colts linebacker Gary Brackett. “The first one was very well received and we worked out some of the kinks. We had so much volume coming from downtown so we thought this we be a great opportunity to grow.”
The new restaurant accommodates about 290 people with comfortable standing room, due to it’s live music performances on Saturday nights and seats between 70-100 diners.
“One a normal day we have about 50 people on the floor, especially on opening day and that includes hostess, managers, kitchen staff, service and bartenders,” said Brackett. “This location sets itself up for a good lunch crowd because Washington street is pretty busy. A lot of people were wondering when we were opening and we’re just getting the word out and training our staff so they can be prepared when we get that big rush.”
The downtown location features handcrafted wood, a stage for live musical performances, 70 varieties of bourbon and multiple private dining areas on the lower level.
