The Indianapolis Indians gained a split of their doubleheader last night against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs with a shutout victory of 1-0 in the second game. The Indians who came up short in the first game by a count of 4-2, were led by first baseman Steve Pearce who reached base twice and drove in Brian Bixler for the winning run with his 30th RBI of the season.

Brian Slocum picked up the win with two innings of relief pitching in his 13th appearance of the season.

With the split, the Indians improve to 24-29 as they close out the series against Lehigh Valley tonight at 7:15 p.m., before embarking on a four game road trip against the Buffalo Bisons.

They will return to Victory Field on June 11 to begin a eight game home stand against the Norfolk Tides and the Gwinnett Braves.

As always, Indians road games can be heard on XL950 AM with the legendary Howard Kellman calling the games.

Tickets for all home games are available at Ticketmaster.com or the Victory Field box office, which can be reached at (317) 269-3545.
