On Sept. 1 Congressman André Carson in cooperation with Purdue Extension Marion County, will hold a Financial Literacy workshop to highlight the importance of money management.
The event will feature a financial literacy coach who will focus on credit building, smart spending habits and fraud protection.
“It’s never too early or too late to learn about saving, investing and using credit,” said Carson. “My office is ready to help any Hoosier who wishes make better financial decisions and more successfully manage their finances.”
According to statistics the average Indiana household owes $4,577 dollars in credit card debt. Additionally, the Hoosier state was recently ranked third in the country for students defaulting on their student loans.
