The Broad Ripple Village Association (BRVA) will host its third annual Canal Duck Race on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Rainbow Bridge.
Promptly at 4:30 p.m. over 1,500 rubber ducks will enter the water where the Monon trail crosses the Central Canal and the winning ducks will be plucked out of the water at the finish line, just west of the Rainbow Bridge.
After the race, contestants may pick up their rubber duck at the BRVA tent as a souvenir. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place finishers. All prizes are gift cards from Broad Ripple merchants. The first place prize is valued at over $300, according to a press release.
Event attendees may purchase their duck in advance online at www.broadrippleduckrace.org or at the BRVA tent prior to the race. Families may watch the race from the north and south banks of the Central Canal between the Monon bridge and pedestrian bridge near College Ave.
Proceeds from the race will support additional programs and projects of the BRVA.
