For the past 8 years, the Indiana Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center and the Indiana State Department of Health have hosted the annual Sickle Cell-abration community event to raise awareness of sickle cell disease in the greater Indianapolis area.
This year’s event, The 2017 Sickle Cell-abration: The Art of Style, will be held at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, 4000 Michigan Road, on Sept. 30 from 2–6 p.m. Doors open at 1:30 p.m., and the event is free.
In addition to educational activities and a fashion show curated and presented by DaNisha Greene of Yours in Fashion Styling Co., guest speaker Dr. Edwards Donnell Ivy, program director for the Hemoglobinopathies Program, will share his firsthand accounts of living with sickle cell disease.
