The state’s various slogans include “Enjoy Indiana, “The Crossroads of America” and “Restart Your Engines,” the last a reference to the Indianapolis 500.
An apparel company is inviting Hoosiers to come up with a slogan with more hopeful, more optimistic or humorous spin.
The contest organized by Bring the Hope asks entrants to submit a slogan in eight words or less. Online voters will pick one winner, and the new slogan will be printed on T-shirts for purchase. The nonprofit group then will donate 25 percent of net profits — up to $5,000 — to the winner’s favorite Indiana-based charity.
Bring the Hope already has received more than 100 submissions, including “Indiana: much cooler than those square states” and “Indiana: honk if you’re corny.”
The contest ends Aug. 31.
