Just give me Jesus

More by this author

A woman can change her society through her family and community.

Those are the words of Anne Graham Lotz, daughter of evangelist Billy Graham. Lotz will be the main speaker at the Just Give Me Jesus revival to take place April 5-6 at the Indiana Convention Center.

Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church in collaboration with Angel Ministries will bring this citywide rival for women to Indianapolis.

According to Lotz the focus of the revival is based on John 4: One woman had a personal encounter with Jesus Christ, and went back to her city and brought the entire population out to meet Jesus. She believes when women experience personal revival, they may reach the broader family of God.

Nevertheless the event is also open to men who are seeking a fresh touch from God.

ā€œWe want Godā€™s spirit to pour out on all his people,ā€ said Michael Fondren, pastor of evangelism and prayer at Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church. ā€œItā€™s encouraging to know that God is still speaking. This is a chance to impact not only Indianapolis but the entire nation.ā€

The increase in crime and economy problems are a testament to how much our country is in need of a fresh revival, which gives us hope, he said.

Kathi Moore, promotions chair of Just Give Me Jesus, says people are searching for meaning. They want more out of life.

Moore explains the prayer, music and word will be church with a capital ā€œC.ā€ Plus the speakers and musicians add a whole new dynamic.

According to Moore, guests include Babbie Mason, an award-winning contemporary gospel singer. Daughter of a Baptist preacher, Mason has centered her career on convincing women they matter and are able to overcome any adversity they may face.

Sheila Bailey also lives to minister to women in all seasons of their lives.Ā She has a passion for Christ, and is eager to draw others into that prayerful feeling.Ā Fernando Ortego, an award-winning Christian musician, will also join the event. His beautiful interpretations of many traditional hymns and other Christian music will draw attendees in Godā€™s presence.

ā€œWhat is important is that you come, listen and allow yourself to be inspired,ā€ said Moore.

Fondren adds the revival is free and open to all denominations, cultures and races.

ā€œWe would just like you to come and fellowship. The Bible says if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked way, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive them their sins and heal their land.ā€
