Center For Black Literature & Culture Grand Opening

The Indianapolis Public Library’s Center for Black Literature & Culture (CBLC) grand opening event will be Saturday, Oct. 21, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Central Library (40 E. St. Clair St.) Special guest Roland S. Martin, journalist and political commentator, will give the keynote presentation at 12:30 p.m., with a Q&A session and a book signing to follow. This event is free and open to the public. 

Wine after Work

Join DJ Stylistic and DJ Jay Diff spinning R&B, neo-soul and hip-hop all night at Wine after Work. Enjoy $5 glasses of wine and $25 bottles. The party takes place on Friday, Oct. 20, from 6–10 p.m. at the Red Room, 6335 Guilford Ave.

Hauntless Halloween 

Join Holliday Park staff and actors from Booth Tarkington Civic Theater for an enchantingly fun evening. Families can hike along candlelit trails and interact with magical speaking forest creatures, then return to the nature center for a campfire, refreshments and activities. The Exchange with Paul Brunson

Your “special thing,” or what you’re world-class at doing, is what makes you unique. The Exchange at the Indianapolis Urban League invites the public to hear Oprah’s renowned relationship guru Paul Brunson’s perspective on “How to Discover What You’re World-Class at Doing Through Career Pivots.” This free event takes place on Monday, Oct. 16, at 6 p.m. at the Urban League, 777 Indiana Ave.

REAL 98.3 Bash

Party In Peace, iHeart and MetroPCS present the REAL 98.3 Birthday Bash 2017, featuring Chief Keef, 21 Savage, Cardi B and Youngboy NBA. It all goes down Friday, Oct. 20, from 5–11 p.m. at Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Tickets start at $50 and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com.

 

Indy Fitness Festival
