“A Christmas Story, The Musical,” is taking the stage at Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre.

Set in the fictional town of Hohman, Indiana, the Tony Award-nominated musical is onstage now at Beef and Boards with an extended run through Jan. 5, 2025. Set in the 1940s, “A Christmas Story: The Musical” follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker (Teddy Wiegand), who, despite pushback and reprimand for all the adults in his life, hatches numerous attempts to secure the ultimate Christmas gift: an official Red Ryder air rifle.

The musical adaptation features the same iconic scenes from the 1983 movie with the addition of a dynamic musical score ranging from gentle ballads to full-ensemble numbers, including “Ralphie to the Rescue!,” “A Major Award,” “Sticky Situation,” “Up on Santa’s Lap,” “Somewhere Hovering Over Indiana” and “You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out!”
