Indianapolis Public Schools is excited to start the 2015-16 school year with new and returning families. Now is the perfect time to enroll your students for the coming year. IPS has services you’ll need to start the year off right at their 2nd Annual Open Enrollment. This one-stop shop is in the John Morton-Finney Center for Educational Services (120 East Walnut Street) in downtown Indianapolis from July 13-25.
Questions and enrollment information for every IPS program, from Pre-K to high school and popular magnet schools, can be addressed at Open Enrollment sessions. Bilingual assistants will also be on hand to ensure there are no barriers when it comes to setting students up for success with IPS.
Student Assignment will help enroll or transfer children, Transportation experts can ensure parents know where bus stops are and Health Services will be on site to help with immunization records and questions.
Don’t forget to prepare your paperwork ahead of time to ensure your trip downtown is as swift as possible. Parents will need to bring these four pieces of information to enrollment to ensure a speedy and accurate process:
Ā· Student’s original birth certificate (no photocopies)
Ā· Complete immunization records
Ā· Proof of residence (a lease or utility bill showing your name and current address)
Ā· Picture ID for the parent or guardian
Open Enrollment will be hosted with a variety of early morning, late evening, and weekend hours:
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays: 8 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
Wednesdays: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturdays (July 18 & 25): 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
