The Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP) is partnering with five companies to help Indiana students explore career paths and career opportunities in a variety of fields. The five initiatives fall into the categories of life sciences, agbioscience, advanced manufacturing and logistics, technology and talent and workforce development.
CICP will be working closely with high schools and educators, starting in the 16-tech area and expanding outreach statewide with the Indiana Department of Education, colleges and universities.
The partnered corporations all have programs and career exploration opportunities available to students.
Life Sciences ā BioCrossroads
Life sciences involve the studies of living organisms and life processes. Typically, life sciences involve a linkage between biology and tech.
BioCrossroads supports and promotes the life sciences industry in Indiana through investments and partnerships across the field.
- Ā Life Sciences IN Indiana is a tool utilized by BioCrossroads to connect with corporate, academic and philanthropic partners to facilitate investments and promote startups. Through collaborations with the Datalys Center, Indiana Biosciences Research Institute, Indiana Health Information Exchange, IndyHub and OrthoWorx, BioCrossroads uses their collaborations to connect younger Hoosiers with potential careers in life sciences.
Agbioscience ā AgriNovus Indiana
Agbioscience is a field that unites biology and agricultural sciences to provide the newest innovations in the global agricultural industry.
AgriNovus is a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring the agricultural sector of Indiana flourishes by defining issues, supporting research and providing students with opportunities in the field.
- The Field Atlas is an AgriNovus tool for students to explore career matches, find degree pathways, find employers and learn more about the agbioscience field. Students can explore the Field Atlas at myfieldatlas.com. There is a tool under the āI amā tab.
Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics ā Conexus Indiana
Advanced manufacturing and logistics is all about innovation, such as the newest technology in software and automation, reaching peak efficiency and competitive production.
Conexus Indiana is a network of industry, education and public-sector leaders that seeks to strengthen Indianaās advanced manufacturing and logistics advantage.
- Catapult Indiana is a course that allows students to explore advanced manufacturing and logistics, focusing on demands in industry and growing leadership skills.
- Make IN Move is a tool for students to determine what career opportunities are the best fit for them in the advanced manufacturing and logistics sector.
- Student Industries is a statewide network designed to strengthen the connections of school-based enterprises, in-school businesses that are run by students.
Technology ā TechPoint
The technology sector focuses on the digital aspect of the economy, from tech startups to data centers.
TechPoint offers several pathways for young adults to enter the world of tech.
- The Advancing Equity through Tech program connects Indianaās Black community to high-wage tech careers.
- Adult Apprenticeship Program allows employers to cast a wider net for talented individuals. These programs are for adults rather than students.
- Xplore is a program with the mission of helping young students determine career paths in the world of tech.
- The Xtern program guides students as they work alongside leaders and industry professionals and are introduced to a network of career paths.
Talent and Workforce Development ā Ascend Indiana
Talent and workforce development refers to the process of cultivating, motivating and growing members of a workforce.
Ascend Indianaās mission is committed to making Indiana a place of opportunity for all by connecting members of the workforce to meaningful careers.
- The Cemets iLab Indiana is a coalition of more than 100 leaders working to form a youth apprenticeship system. The 10-month iLab is a plan to increase the number of available modern youth apprenticeships across a variety of sectors.
