The Indianapolis Colts inducted former tight end Dallas Clark into the prestigious Ring of Honor during a special ceremony on Oct. 20 at Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indy.
This recognition is a fitting tribute to Clark’s remarkable contributions to the franchise during his nine seasons with the team from 2003-11.
Clark, known for his exceptional receiving skills and tenacity on the field, was a key figure in the Coltsā offense, particularly during the team’s Super Bowl XLI victory in 2007. Over his career in Indianapolis, Clark recorded 427 receptions for 4,887 yards and 46 touchdowns, establishing himself as one of the most productive tight ends in franchise history. His ability to create mismatches against defenders helped redefine the tight end position in the NFL, blending agility and strength.
Clark’s breakout season came in 2009 when he achieved career highs with 100 receptions, 1,106 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, earning a Pro Bowl selection and All-Pro honors. His chemistry with quarterback Peyton Manning was evident, as the duo often connected on critical third downs and in the red zone, contributing significantly to the Colts’ offensive success.
The ceremony was attended by former teammates, coaches and fans in attendance for the game against the Miami Dolphins.
Fans were treated to a video montage showcasing Clarkās best moments, including memorable touchdowns and clutch catches. The Ring of Honor induction is not only a recognition of Clark’s individual talent but also a celebration of his contributions to a team that captured the hearts of fans and achieved historic success.
As Clarkās name now joins the ranks of other Colts legends like Manning, Marvin Harrison and others in the Ring of Honor, it serves as a reminder of his outstanding legacy and the impact he made on the franchise during his illustrious career.
More likely than not, your favorite Dallas Clark catch was done with his signature style: without gloves.
