The Youth Enrichment YMCA is now registering students for its Before and After School programs.
In an effort to accommodate the growing number of schools that are on the balanced school calendar, the Y has adjusted its staffing schedule to handle the new school schedule, which is in effect at a number of school districts in Greater Indianapolis.
āWe understand that parents work schedules do not always match their childās school calendar,ā said Heather Perkins, executive director, YMCA of Greater Indianapolis. āOur job is to help working parents by providing continuous care for their child in an educational, safe and fun environment.ā
YMCA Before and After School programs are available at 154 locations. The program is designed to give children the support they need to become successful adults. In addition, the Y incorporates character development, homework assistance, physical activity and nutritious snacks into all of its youth enrichment programs. Programs start at 6 a.m. until classes begin and after school until 6 p.m.
The Y also welcomes parents to register for its Schoolās Out Camp. This option is available to any student ages 5-12 who may be out of school during intersession weeks in addition to fall, winter and spring breaks.
Registration for the YMCAās Before and After School programs and Schoolās Out Camp are now available. Prices vary based on household income and financial assistance is available. The Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Program is also available at select locations.
