On June 24, Eskenazi Health Midtown Community Mental Health, in conjunction with the Department of Public Safety (DPS), IMPD and Friendship Baptist Church will host a Community Behavioral Health Forum to provide information about available treatment and care resources to individuals and families in need.
DPS will address behavorial health challenges in the six Indianapolis neighborhoods deemed focus areas. A review of public safety data from 2013 and 2014 revealed EMS emergency runs related to mental illness were 239 percent more likely to occur in the focus areas as compared to the rest of the city. In conjunction with the launch of the focus area initiative, DPS formed a mental health engagement team to seek solutions to those specific challenges.
This event will take place at the Friendship Baptist Church, 1301 N. Goodlet Ave from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
