Community servant honored

City-County Councilors Paul Bateman and Maggie Lewis (right) recognize Elease Womack (center) for her community outreach program, the Unleavened Bread Café, founded 14 years ago. Located on the corner of 29th Street and Central Avenue, the Unleavened Bread Café was born out of Womack’s dream of having a Christian café and today serves as a community meeting place with everything from Bible studies to a living skills class to cocaine anonymous.
